In-Person Conference Info

Date: Thursday, November 17, 2022

Time: 9:00am–4:15pm Central Time (Registration opens at 8:00am)

Venue: DoubleTree by Hilton Lisle Naperville, 3003 Corporate W Dr, Lisle, IL 60532

Parking: Complimentary on-site parking is available around the hotel with overflow parking (suggested) to the far right of the hotel main lobby entrance. Parking fills up quickly, so we encourage attendees to arrive early or carpool if at all possible. As per IDFPR requirements, we can only issue CEU hours for time physically present within conference sessions.

WiFi Access: While there will be limited WiFi access available throughout the meeting space, coverage may be spotty. High speed WiFi access will be available in the hotel lobby as well as in-room for hotel guests. Please make sure you have a backup plan in case the venue’s WiFi is too slow or unavailable. See venue staff for WiFi access and tech support.

Mother’s Room: If you need access to a Mother’s Room during the conference, please go to the registration booth for assistance.

Live Virtual Conference Info

Date: Thursday, December 1, 2022

Time: 9:00am–4:15pm Central Time

Live Virtual Conference Event Platform: Zoom Events

Recommended Online Login Time: We recommend logging in at 9:45am Central Time to ensure that all audio and visual components are working and technology is ready and updated before conference start time.

Attire

Suggested attire is business/business casual for the conference.

Participants attending this year’s Reconnecting through Social Work: 2022 NASW-Illinois Chapter Hybrid Conference can be eligible to receive up to 6.0 continuing education units (CEUs) for attending either the in-person or live virtual conference OR you can earn an additional 4.5 CEUs for attending both in-person and live virtual conferences as a hybrid attendee for a total eligibility of 10.5 CEUs.

To receive the maximum amount of CEUs (10.5), you must attend:

  • All in-person sessions on Thursday, November 17, 2022, including:
    • two morning workshop sessions (1.5 CEUs each)
    • the educational luncheon session (1.5 CEUs), and
    • one afternoon workshop session (1.5 CEUs).
  • All live virtual sessions you did not attend during the in-person conference—excluding the educational luncheon session—on Thursday, December 1, 2022, including:
    • two morning workshop sessions (1.5 CEUs each), and
    • one afternoon workshop session (1.5 CEUs).

Of those CEU hours, there is the potential to earn cultural competency CEUs and/or take an Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias training to fulfill IDFPR requirements. To get credit for these hours, be sure to note those workshops on your CEU Verification Form (in-person) or listen for the CEU code word (live virtual).

Please be sure arrive/log in early on the day of the conference and to stay through to the end.

While we understand there are many extenuating circumstances that may attribute to a late arrival, we can only issue CEU hours for time you are actually attending/logged into the conference. Therefore, if you require the full day of CEUs, make sure to arrive early each and stay through to the end of the conference. Late arrivals or early departures from the conference may result in deducted CEU credits.

  • In-Person Participants: You will obtain a CEU Verification Form at registration. You will need to get your form stamped twice: 1) One arrival stamp received at the registration booth, and 2) One departure stamp received by classroom monitor if staying through to the end of the last session of the day; otherwise, go to the registration booth if leaving early. See "Know Before You Go" closer to the conference for full details on obtaining your CEUs.
  • Live Virtual Participants: There will be CEU code words provided for each session of the conference. You will need to keep track of these code words for all sessions you attend to submit in your post-event survey.

Please note that you are not restricted to attend any workshop you’ve entered. You are free to leave a workshop and attend another if the training does not meet your expectations.

If a speaker has provided educational materials for your session, you will find them in the Conference Digital Handouts Folder closer to the date of the conference. If there are no materials for a workshop, that means the speaker has not provided the chapter with any materials.

We encourage you to download all materials to your mobile/tablet device before arriving on-site to the in-person conference; however, you can always print them in advance

If you have any questions about licensure or CEU requirements, please visit our website for more information: https://www.naswil.org/licensure. Or you can contact the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulations (IDFPR) at https://idfpr.illinois.gov/Contact/IDFPRContact.asp.

As of July 14, 2022, the NASW-Illinois Chapter requires in-person conference attendees to provide evidence of being fully vaccinated* or a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the conference date. Mask-wearing is also strongly encouraged.

*Fully vaccinated means you have received at least 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, either a mix of 2 accepted vaccines or at least 1 dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine. A digital image of your vaccination card with photo ID will be accepted.

For the safety of all in-person registrants, if you are feeling ill or have been in contact with someone who is ill or has COVID, PLEASE TAKE AN AT HOME TEST PRIOR TO ARRIVING. We are willing to honor all in-person registrations and swap them to the live virtual conference date on Dec. 1, 2022 for anyone who tests positive. While we cannot provide refunds due to the related costs of an event, we encourage any in-person registrant who is feeling unwell on the day of the conference to please take an at-home test and contact the chapter in writing for a request to swap their registration to the live virtual conference if you test positive.

You may cancel without penalty if written cancellation requests are received up to and including thirty (30) days prior to the start of the conference. Due to financial obligations incurred by the NASW-Illinois Chapter, no refunds or credits will be issue on cancellation requests received less than thirty (30) days prior to the start of the conference. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to the chapter office.

Virtual Platform

While the conference as a whole will not be available after the event, some of the day’s sessions (permitting permission from the speakers) will be available for purchase as a recorded training in the Social Work Online CE Institute.
