
Darby Morhardt, PhD, LCSW
Dr. Morhardt directs the Center’s Outreach, Recruitment and Engagement Core, Social Work Services, and the Miller Post-Graduate Social Work Fellowship in Neurocognitive Disorders. The focus of Dr. Morhardt’s research has been on the impact of cognitive impairment on the individual and family, the process of tailoring care to needs and symptoms and the development of quality-of-life enrichment interventions. Dr. Morhardt directs the Center’s community engagement to increase dementia education, awareness, research participation and quality of life programs especially with underrepresented minoritized communities. She helped found the Arts for Brain Health Coalition, a consortium of arts and health care leaders dedicated to programs for persons living with dementia and those who care for them. A member of the IL Alzheimer’s Disease Advisory Committee, she contributes to the writing of the IL Alzheimer’s Disease State Plan, is a leader within the IL Cognitive Resources Network.
