Dr. Susan Weitzman is a clinician, educator, researcher, international lecturer and training consultant, who also serves as an expert witness and litigation consultant, with a private practice in the Chicago suburbs working with individuals, couples and groups. Formerly on staff in Adult Outpatient Psychiatry at The University of Chicago, and a lecturer at the University of Chicago and Loyola University, Dr. Weitzman is the author of “Not to People like Us: Hidden Abuse in Upscale Marriages.” She has been featured on 20/20, Oprah, 48 Hours, The Today Show, National Public Radio, in People magazine, The NY Post, Chicago Tribune, Publishers’ Weekly, The Daily Beast, The Huffington Post, and the book Big Little Lies. She has won numerous awards for her work including NASW Illinois Social Worker of the Year. Her new books, due out in 2023 and 2024 cover the courtroom as a venue for continued domestic abuse and the difficulty of leaving an abusive relationship.
